Stories from North Dakota

Thought I would share a bit of local pictures taken from various sources including the Grand Forks Herald and some friend's pictures of the major flooding that is going on here in Grand Forks and up and down the Red River Valley. Flood continues to be major from south of Fargo to north of Grand Forks. Read more about it from the Grand Forks Herald

At 9am this morning the waters had reached a height of 46.7 feet. And flood stage was at 28.0 feet. A flood warning is in effect until further notice for the cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks as waters continue to rise. Two of the three bridges that cross into Minnesota have been closed as waters have began to reach the bottom of the bridges.

  • Campus is fine. Though a part of me wants the leeve walls to break and water to pour in. People just dont learn their lesson do they? I am pretty sure they remember their record breaking flood in 97. The river is expected to crest later tonight or tomorrow if we dont get any rain... and rain is in the forecast for the next 3 days.
